Milton Kirby Founder and Publisher of The Truth Seekers Journal

Milton Kirby is the Founder and Publisher of The Truth Seekers Journal, an independent news publication based in Decatur, Georgia. With nearly three years in the field and more than 350 published articles and feature stories, he has become a consistent voice for local journalism that centers truth, transparency, and community accountability. His reporting spans city hall, small town narratives, business innovation, and the preservation of cultural heritage across the South.

He describes his mission simply: to tell stories that matter. His work is grounded in verified facts, diverse perspectives, and a commitment to asking the deeper “backstory questions” that mainstream outlets often overlook. Whether examining public policy, community initiatives, or corporate influence, Milton’s goal is to give readers the information they need to understand their communities and shape their futures.

Milton’s passion for storytelling began in high school, where he served as the official photographer for his school’s sports teams and contributed to the Messenger & Intelligencer newspaper in Wadesboro, North Carolina. That early love for documenting history continues to guide his work today as he focuses on re learning the past and capturing history as it unfolds in real time.

His work is especially important in this moment because he refuses to accept surface level narratives. Milton approaches every story with a simple but rigorous philosophy: follow the relationships, follow the incentives, and follow the unanswered questions. He looks beyond press releases and public statements to examine the structures, financial mechanisms, and power dynamics that shape a story beneath the surface. This investigative approach — grounded in curiosity, accountability, and a commitment to truth — guides his reporting across all subjects, from community issues to complex business and legal matters.
Like many independent publishers, Milton navigates the challenge of operating without the financial backing of major media outlets. Balancing TSJ’s mission with other professional responsibilities sometimes limits the volume of stories he can pursue, but it never diminishes the intention or care behind each piece. TSJ remains a labor of love — love for the communities it serves, love for the unvarnished truth, and love for the responsibility of documenting history with integrity.

Milton hopes readers understand that every story published in TSJ is crafted with purpose, respect, and a deep commitment to the people whose lives shape the narrative of the South.
